Dealer said 5mnths build time anyway.
Got a RAV and the ASX initial price today as well so will have to think about those too now.2011 Tiguan | 125TSI (5N) | DSG (7-speed) | 4Mo | Fog | Comfort | Bluetooth | MDI | Leather | Sunroof | Floor Mats

That's good to hear neets. I have looked over the ASX and wasn't thrilled, but then they do claim that impressive fuel economy. I was really keen on the first RAV's but when I was ready to get one they changed to that different body shape which I wasn't a fan of. Now they seem to have come back a little to a better look.
Japanese vs German....hmmmm

Hello,
Me and my wife have planned to purchase this amazing machine, or I should say that I have been successful in convincing my Mrs to go ahead with VW tig.
The only problem... getting a good deal. We test drove the vehicle last week and were ready to place the order but the dealer didn't budge on price - no discounts, no reduction, just free mats.
Heartbroken, we got back.. Have been reading/posting a few threads to get a better understanding before I go through the negotiation process again. (This is our 1st new car purchase)
We are based in Melbourne.. Would you know of any good dealers who can give us a reasonable price here.
Also, we are interested in purchasing the new 2012 facelifted model.. Any info on what are the standard options on this new 2012 model, this will help us decide selecting the right options without blowing our budget.
Cheers

Go to a dealership without the lady/kids. Check if you can get 'fleet' discount through your work. Or sign them up (free). Given this, you can expect 10-12% off list . I bought through Burwin. Barloworld gives similar pricing. Bargain at end of month when they're trying to meet sales. 2012 model will be similar to current offerings. Prettier face.TDI tiguan in the drive. ParkAssist, comfort, fogs
Service every 15,000, new fault code every 7,500km

We grabbed a Pearl Black Tig with Leather, MDI, Bluetooth, Tints and Mats for $42,750 with VW finance at 9.2%. Really wanted to wait for the refresh but fell in love and couldn't wait that long.
Ship arrived yesterday, anyone know roughly how long it takes after that? I've been told about 2 weeks to unload and clear customs...

It takes about 2 weeks from customs to the dealership.
I wanted the black but ended up going having to go with the Pepper Grey.
Got a great price due to the fleet discount.
Paid $43K for the Pepper Grey 125 TSI DSG, MDI, Bluetooth, Park Assist, Comfort Pack, Fogs, Leather Pack and Mats.
Did the VW finance a couple weeks ago and got it for 7.99% (apparently the deal was only valid to the end of May)

i.e. Diamond, gold, silver , bronze.
I just made an application today for my Tig to be financed through VW and still awaiting the result and what the percentage rate will be. Just wanting to compare the percentage rate.

7.99% Wow! Nice deal. Definitely calling the guys to see if they'll match, sneaking suspicion they wont.
We went between Camberwell and South Yarra VW. Camberwell were genuine car sales guys, i.e. jerks, South Yarra were so much easier to deal with, really good guys. I saw Andrew.

We're all here to help one another.
Unfortunatley I wouldn't have a clue what credit rating category they gave me.
I just told them to do a application and they just informed me that I was approved straight away.
If the rating is shown on the paperwork, I can check it when I get home tonight and let you know.
Cheers

Bit of a mistake on the post though, the offer was only valid till the end of April NOT May.
But if you signed the paperwork back in April, then definitely call them to match it.
The dealership isn't the one that decides on the rate, its VW Financial Services and if it was an offer they had on until the end of April, then it should apply to everyone.
