In Sydney diesel is about $1.26 a litre, so $70-$80 is if you're filling an empty tank.
When I took delivery of my Tig from Chatswood Classic Cars it had a full tank and I thought nothing of it. I didn't realise there were dealers that let new cars off the showroom floor with less than a full tank! Used cars I know it's common practice to barely have enough in the tank to make the nearest servo, but new cars... come on!
I got a full tank too, thought that was the standard. Haven't had to fill up yet... still going on what they gave me
Noticed that diesel is cheaper than ULP out my way at the moment, yippee
Just wondering how my deal stacks up. Just signed on the dotted line on a:
Tiguan 147 (5N12V3/10 - so i think i'm getting the 2010 model)
Black Metallic Paint
Black Leather with the electric seat
Sunroof
3 year warranty extension (now 6 years)
Boot Tray
Premium Plates
Mats (but i think they are included anyway)
Full tank
Free loan car, probably a golf or something if my delivery date of late November isn't fulfiled.
Pretty happy with the timing considering how long others have to wait.
I cant seem to get that spreadhseet to work and i am reluctant to think about another e-mail account, brain is overloaded with usernames and passwords as it is so i appreciate you taking the time.
Just out of curiosity, how much did you allow for the 3 years extended warranty???
Also, can any of you more experience VW owners shed a bit of light on what my instument cluster is going to look like seeing as though i am getting the 147 5N12V3/10???
I hope the white looks good in my black 147, i'm not overly fussed either way, might help re-sale very slightly, not that i am thinking about that yet!!
Thanks again, look forward to sharing some pics and info soon!
I just joined this site yesterday. I am in the process of buying a Tiguan. I went to a dealer in Mascot but the best he could do for me is $45,500 for
125 tsi automatic drive away $41,440
Beige leather $3,990
Metallic paint $790
Park assist $1,390
Alarm $600
Comfort pack $990
Tinted window $400
Floor mats $200
Total RRP $49,800
I noticed in the first page posted by "Varsur" who got a great deal from Denlo Parramatta + options for $43,080. The RRP works out to approx $49,591 ($6,511 off) The salesman in Mascot said that he can't do any lower than $45,500 as they are not making money and he actually said sorry that he couldn't do business with me Is there any other way that I could talk the price down by another $2,000?
Sanman, I updated your sheet, but couldn't get info into some of the cells...? Maybe need another coffee? I believe we got a good deal too, from Austral here in Brisbane. I double checked by taking the agreed price to two other dealers who basically said Austral is giving us the car without a profit..? hmmm not sure about that.
2010 Candy White TDI Auto, black leather, bi-Xenons + fogs, DVD plus other gadgets and gizmos to keep the kids quiet!

Looks like you did OK with the spreadsheet. Dealers are a bit of a mafia - they know when you're shopping around, particularly when there are few dealers in Bris, and you were getting a fully optioned Tiguan.. Alternatively, you'd contact a broker (ie carbroker.com.au)

Well done Varsur..
Any advice is much appreciated..

I entered you into the spreadsheet - this is 8% discount. You should be able to do $1000 better, though $2000 is pushing it - this is equivalent to the best deal people have got. Note that this pricing is with Corporate discount (ie sign 2 forms) which improves the price instantly by $2k off RRP and $1k off dealer delivery. Contact a broker and set them a target if yu can;t get the dealers to budge.

Thank you Sanman. I contacted a broker last night actually. He said what I got is a reasonable discount. However, he thinks he can get another $500 perhaps $1000 off. If that's the case I'll try give it a go myself first.
