Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • My 2009 147TSI

Here's a few pics of my new 147TSI that I picked up last Friday.

Ordered the car end of June 2008 which worked out good as I wasn't ready for a new car until now anyways!

Added Leather, Dynaudio with MDI and Park Assist

Some info for people thinking of ordering the 147

    - The chrome roof rails and windows surrounds are a beautiful brushed chrome look
    - The 17" alloys look stunning, glad I didn't get the optional 18"
    - Even if you don't want park assist go for it to just get the front sensors, the full front and back optical parking display is awesome!
    - The aluminum door scuff plates with the Tiguan logo look way better on the car for real v's pictures, def. worth it.

              Very nice indeed!!!
              Love it mate!!!
              Nice number plate too!!

I agree about the front sensors, and whilst I'm not sure I'd use Park Assist a lot - the benefit of having front and rear parking sensors I think is terrific!

I so want a Tiguan right now! grin

The chrome trim / roof rails do seem to show up more on the Black Tiguan!
Black seems to be the best looking - but if I do buy one - I'm still leaning to Silver Leaf or Silver - as I used to own a black car (Celica convertible) that it was very hard to keep looking good!

Would need to be more like an 8 inch drop for one of these to kiss the weeds

Dynaudio is an option on all models, I think it's worth it although it is a bit on the pricey side, sounds much better than the stock RCD510...

The quality of VW paint can't be compared to Toyota, Holden or Ford - it is exceptional (was on my reflex silver golf too, 5 years and a few polishes and it still looks brand new!).

Thanks for all of the nice comments! Everyone expecting new Tigs, make sure you share your pics too!

                      Nope
Dynaudio is the upgraded stereo / speakers...
                      SATNAV is separate.

You can add both for a cheaper price though
                      saves $300 on 147 and $600 on 103/125 I think from memory.

                            Hey mate
the 147 comes with rear parking sensors (optical Parking system) as standard - without the Park Assist I think.
I'm keen for the parking sensors / display... not sure how much of a "nice to have" Park Assist is - if I get a 147 with the parking sensors standard.

How are you finding the Black to keep clean now you've had it for a bit?
Or Black leather and black car... does it get hot?

Seems there are very very few silver leaf's already on their way to Aust...
but I might be able to get a Black on much sooner!!!!!

                            Ah the dilemma!

The 147 only has rear parking sensors as standard. It does have the OPS, but for rear only.
