    park assist
18" wheels (was looking at 19's but dont like the flared guards that come with them)
    tow bar
    side steps
    door sill scuff plates
    ipod adaptor
    luggage net
    boot liner

am guessing the above will be full retail price... so this will end up cheaper and think i will delete some options. get rid of the rns510 and ipod adaptor and run the avc9000 unit. also dont really need the towbar as i have one on the jetta.
then definitely thinking of the chip upgrade to 180kW.

anyone know if the leather seats are heated?
salesman said they are but options list does not mention it only says electric drivers seat.

i had a good laugh when we tested one as the salesman said that our pram (mountain buggy) would easily fit inside the hatch. had it in the jetta so took it in to try it and he looked quite embarrassed that it wouldn't fit in.. i have to try our other pram (mclaren) coz if that dont fit then no point in buying the car.
There's one on carsales with almost those exact specs in that colour on NSW Central Coast from memory, $49900 i think.

You can slide the rear seats forward which gives you a bit more depth, but at the expense of the rear legroom.

yeah i noticed that when we were fiddling around with the interior stuff. rear leg room not an issue on the passenger side as this is where the baby seat will go.. but shouldn't have to move the whole back seat forward to fit a pram in it.
It just doesn't seem wide enough. will have to take our other pram in on the weekend for a test fit.

How about taking the Tig to a pram shop and finding a pram to fit the car!

Pity you can't get a drive of a remapped 125, I don't think the boot space would be an issue somehow.

Did you get the pram to fit????
That is the biggest non buying point for my Mrs..
If I can get a pram to fit in the boot I reckon I can swing her around!

I'd be more inclined to put the missus in the boot and the pram in the front seat just so you can get one I test drove a 125 yesterday and also ordered one Massively impressed is all i'll say

                        Hi all...

I also am currently considering a Tiguan.
I've been madly reading every review and forum I can find...

Love the look of the Tiguan, and all the reviews seem very positive!
Initially when I saw the boot size - I was taken a back a bit...
but it sounds like most people are discovering you can get more in there than initially expected. Being able to slide the back seat forward up to 16cm (I gather) seems to help too!

My big question is about the engine options though...
103TDI seems to get positive reviews - but I'm wondering about real life / real driving experiences? Are people finding it is powerful enough? Has enough grunt to get up hills loaded up, overtake with ease, etc etc?

I like the idea of moving to TDI for fuel economy reasons, but want to ensure the engine if big enough. I drove a Passat last weekend that has the 125TDI in it - which seemed really good! Not sure if it was the 125 or the DSG though - that made it all feel better than the Tiguan?

The 125 / 147 FSI engines I gather are the same engine - but tweaked...
Happy to hear about these too - although with 98RON ULP requirement - am leaning towards what I know TSI engines.

Appreciate any comments / opinions / experiences!

Dont think she would b too happy with that since it will b her car. Mine will still b the jetta. Haven't got round to testing it with the pram yet. Hoping to do that this weekend if I can get there without bub in tow.

YAY! Another potential Canberra Tiggy owner!! I test drove both the TDI and the 125. The 125 does have more top end which I suspect would make overtaking easier than the TDI but having said this the TDI does have great acceleration and MASSIVE torque, I think you'd be more than happy with it's performance. When you go for a test drive try and get on the freeway and see what you think. Some good deals going on TDIs at the moment too, plenty in stock.

                              Hello DJY,

I am in a similar position to you, am waiting for end of FY to see if any deals come around. We want an auto and have only driven the TDI. There is plenty of grunt.

I would prefer to save some $ and take the 125, however they never have them in the showroom to test drive and it seems there are more TDIs around.

Well today I bit the bullet...
and to aid possibly the original poster...

                                go for a sunroof!

Not only is it HUGE, but the tilt and open options are there...
you can tilt or open - with the blind open or closed.

I was playing with all the combinations on it today as I did a "test drive" in the Tiguan that I went back to the dealer in and bought.

I think the sunroof adds an amazing amount of light in, and don't think I will close the blind very much at all! The tint on it seems fairly good - so whereas in my Alfa 147 I close the slide solid roof under the glass regularly... I don't know I will in the Tiguan. I pick up my car Friday night (45 hrs from this post) so can take any additional photos you might like on the weekend. Let me know.
