Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Tiguan servicing: people's experience?

Hey, thanks for that link, ralp2dam. The upper end of the carservice estimate was the exact figure the dealership quoted me... Interesting to see what is (required to be) performed at the service & parts used. I would have thought 30000 would be too soon for brake fluid & haldex coupling oil... Too soon for those & too long for engine oil, IMO...
Will update thread with a couple of non-dealer quotes when i get them.

Best bet is likely to be off ecstuning or oemplus.
Otherwise try an overseas VW parts store.
The filter is located above the passenger footwell from memory.
If this doens't fix the problem apprently the smells can come from having the aircon on until you turn the car off (leaving it to condensate nad grow bacteria) or from the sunroof drain clogging up with rotting leaves etc.

Yes , MGV thats my local dealership in Werribee.
I`ve found the sales guy`s to be fantastic to deal with (no surprise ) but I`m 50/50 on the service department. Currently considering whether to try new KD dealership in Deer Park .
Out this morning shopping for new tyres for the Tiguan . At the 30 k service I thought that I had a wheel bearing gone due to the constant drone coming from the car . Find out the wheel alignment was badly out. Car has been serviced regularly yet nothing picked up re tyre wear . Tyres have only done 40 K now and its going to hurt my pocket to the tune of about $1500 for a new set.
Finding 235 x55 x17 tyres has been a whole lot of fun too.147 TSI ,Sunroof,Candy White,Mud Flaps, Tow Bar,Scuff Plates ,Tint .

I've heard mixed things about the WA dealerships ... and although golfwagen comes recommended, I would like to stick to a dealership if possible for warranty reasons (just in case ... )
Of Wangara, Osborne Park, John Hughes, Melville - who would people recommend?

Had mine done yesterday as well, $650 at a Melb. inner east dealership. Really only went there to have a few other issues looked at, at the same time. So, 2 issues resolved, 1 unresolved. I feel a little violated...Current: MY18 TRANSPORTER CrewVan, Indium Grey
