Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • New York 18in wheel cap.

    Hi all,
I have recently lost a wheel cap from one of the Tiguan's 18in New York wheels.
I've had a quick look online to order another one and the part numbers/sizes are quite confusing.
The listing comes up as three part numbers, and I've found there are 3 different sizes.
Before I go and try to take one of the other wheels off, would anyone know the exact part number for that model wheel?

    Thanks

Hi mate, are you talking about the centre caps?

I bought these off Ebay for my Tig and they look just like the OEM part:

65mm VW VOLKSWAGEN WHEEL RIMS 5 x 112 CENTRE CAPS PASSAT TIGUAN GOLF GTI R EOS | eBay

    A lot cheaper too.

Be careful buying off Ebay. I purchased 4 for my Mk5 Golf. They look good, have made in Germany moulded in the back but are a loose fit. At this stage are staying put but need a drop of silicone or glue to hold firmly.
Understand how it works, troubleshoot logically BEFORE replacing parts.

Definitely agree to be careful buying off Ebay. Touch wood but I've had mine on for 9 months now (including driving at 80kmh+ on unsealed roads) and they still fit like new.
