Check out page 300 onwards, J345 is the module's name.

    Many thanks MIG.

Page 302 seems to be the page I need. J345 (trailer module) to U10 (trailer socket).

Cable colours match what I have. However, from the diagram, how do I determine which colour is for L turn, R turn etc.?

    Regards,

U10 is a 13 pin euro style trailer plug.

      It should match this pinout

        Thanks MIG.

I can now confirm that the wires are hooked up correctly. Strangely, there is still no change in voltage on any of the wires when a turn signal, brake pedal etc. are used.

When I unplug the trailer module, I receive a 'light' error on the dash. The error disappears when I plug it back in. This, along with the module displaying correctly in VCDS suggests trailer module has been 'coded' correctly.

I don't have a trailer to test it with, so that is why I am using a multimeter. Which should be fine?

        Any other suggestions?

I think the unit does a cold-bulb diagnostic to see if the car is connected to the trailer; it tells many other systems in the car what to do while a trailer is attached.
If you have a test lamp, old school (not LED) or a spare globe lying around, try that; or VCDS\scan tool might have an output test you can try too.

Might be easier to back it up to someone's trailer and test it ?
