Announcement

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Surprising that the reviewer says that the old and new Tiguan are similar size internally. I haven't been in the previous model tiguan but I thought the new one was quite a bit bigger.

I've got the Yeti and driven the new Tiggy and it certainly feels bigger inside - the console especially seems a bit wider.

It is an interesting comparison. Apart from the tech in the new car, and the size only being marginally larger (width probably most noticeable), there's not a great deal to separate the two mechanically.

I think it's a testament to how much they got right in the gen1 Tiguan why people hang onto them as long as they do.
