Did you sell the original wheels? If so how much did they fetch?

Original wheels are for sale here: For Sale: 20" Kapstadt wheels 20x8 ET41

The Kapstadt is not that common wheel - this is the only set that I know of that has been for sale locally. I was in 2 minds whether to sell them or leave them packed up in the shed to put back on when I sell the car.

        • Thanks for the photos, the car looks amazing!

I’m still waiting for my Grey Wolfsburg, it’s still held up in the delayed shipment....

How are you finding the Gtechniq so far? I’m still tossing up between Gtechniq or Opticoat Pro, would you recommend one over the other?

I can't really speak about opticoat pro because I have no first hand experience with it. Based on what I have seen/read, gtechniq results in a glossier finish and has better hydrophobic properties. I understand opticoat is still considered a good product and is generally cheaper.

I’ve used OC Pro on my White Golf GTI and the result was good but wasn’t extraordinary.

I agree with Psych, GTech is much more glossier looking.

But remember which ever product you use the results may vary depending on prep work (ie colour correction). I have asked most dealers in Sydney who uses GTech or OC Pro and they simply didn’t apply this step. I stayed clear of these dealers as they are not doing it properly (IMO).

For my car, I’ve booked in for Pomponazzi paint protection so will report back after it’s installed.

It looks like they are both the same size on the exterior? The Tiguan has better interior space than the Q5...

                        • Wow that’s a nice ride! Did you DIY the red brake calipers?

Any other enhancements to the car?

Very nice! What paint did you use on the calipers? Also, given it’s a November build, are there any changes in the vehicle, I.e updated AID etc?

$150 per caliper in red - just going to forward the receipt to insurance company so it's covered if anything untoward happens.

Re changes to AID - no idea - I have been driving a 2005 LS1 V8 VZ Berlina for 15 years - first new car in that time and first euro one.
