MY17 Tiguan as a family car?

I'm not convinced. 505 (X1) vs 520 (Tig) would come down to the shape.

Seats slide forward in the X1 as well.

X1 would have another 80-100 where the spare normally goes because it has run flats.

My 2011 Gen 1 Tiguan rear seats slide back and forwards too. Never understood all the hype by car reviewers re boot size with this car as it was quite adequate if you slid the seats forward and you also have the option of folding the backs as well. That said, the new Tiguan does have much more space without doing this. Perversely perhaps, one of the reasons many bought the Gen 1 Tig was because of its size, I know that was a factor for me (I also have a Prado) a larger car means more hassles in city parking etc.
