Given the R-Line front bar is already 'too heavy' I'm not sure I'd draw more attention to it with the random red stripe, but the wheels are solid.Originally posted by tigger73 View PostMonday Morning Wheels:

LOL, I won't get into the semantics, and not my favourite wheel, but it works.Originally posted by tigger73 View PostAudi OEM 21x8.5 running 255/35R21 Pirelli's lowered on Mk7.5 Golf R OEM springs for that OEM+ look (or is that OEM- because it's lowered??):

I don't mind it. It's not overly horrible. Breaks up the over done stormtrooper look!! And yeah.. my MK6 GTI is stormtrooper spec.Originally posted by Dutch77 View PostGiven the R-Line front bar is already 'too heavy' I'm not sure I'd draw more attention to it with the random red stripe, but the wheels are solid.

Haha, my 7.5 Wolf wagon stormtrooper look was broken up when I changed course, but I'm now back on a white car with black pack fitted, so considering (cheap) options as Mrs Dutch will likely end my life if I do any mods.Originally posted by Tob35 View PostI don't mind it. Overdone or just because mixing black with white works. I fall into the second camp.

I'm with you one this one Tobes. I don't think it looks that bad. I probably wouldn't necessarily do it myself. If anything I'd wrap some of the heavy black areas back to white - just leave a few choice highlights.Originally posted by Tob35 View PostI don't mind it. It's not overly horrible. Or alternatively just wrap the complete rest of the car in nardo grey to distract you from the heavy R-line features on the front bumper:Originally posted by Dutch77 View PostHighlights up front..

My thoughts on Nardo with black are positive. Just need to gloss black the wheels.. and perhaps pinch a Wolf badge off someone else to really upset the pack who think their badge and paint pack is the second coming.Originally posted by tigger73 View PostOr alternatively just wrap the complete rest of the car in nardo grey to distract you from the heavy R-line features on the front bumper:

Wolfie is not the Messiah??!!Originally posted by Dutch77 View PostMy thoughts on Nardo with black are positive. Just need to gloss black the wheels.. and perhaps pinch a Wolf badge off someone else to really upset the pack who think their badge and paint pack is the second coming.
A smart marketing excercise by VWA to move the last of the 2018 build vehicles. Chuck a couple of black bits and a cool badge on it. Watch them sell like hotcakes!

At least on the Golf it meant the lightweight Pretorias, and a couple of other goodies not normally available - the Nappa, and Dynaudio (which obviously became a later option).
It feels like they should have collaborated with Toyota and made a Tiguan Sportivo.

Although I agree if you like the styling then it is a lot cheaper to buy it this way from the factory rather than get everything taken off and professionally painted.Originally posted by Tob35 View PostWolfie is not the Messiah??!!

To be honest it's done really well for VW. How to make a mid-life model new again and have people flocking back to the showrooms. That end of calendar year car is often harder to shift and dealers have to discount in April just to move it as everyone would rather get the 2019 build car and not take as much of a depreciation hit.
Let's hope the Wolfsburg is as popular in the used market and the resale values hold up in 3 years time... or it may go the other way and look like the dated model. Time will tell.
