I have ordered/received my New Tiguan

Thanks guys. It's a marathon not a sprint.

It's actually a new staff car for the Minster for War and Finance. She's even more impatient than I am.

Another who's looking forward to its arrival is my brother in law. We sold the old staff car, a Mazda 3, to my niece and we're driving her dad's Mazda 6 until the new Tig arrives.

Whoo hoo. Just got a tracking hit on the VIN.

Tortugas left on 8 Mar and due in Port Kembla on 14 Apr. Expect delivery late April I guess.

It seems the production must be catching up. We ordered just before Xmas, were initially told July delivery, then late May, but now it seems it's come forward another month. For us, about four months from order to pickup.

Hi when did your car exit production? I am checking everyday for tracking with VIN... but no luck yet. Was ment to leave/ship out on 9th Mar

Called the dealer today to postpone my order to a my18 after they told me last week my original order from late Jan was still in order phase and expected delivery in September, anyway dealer said your car is being built and expect delivery in June. So that's a huge change from last week or there pulling a fast one on me. Asked for vin, he said it didn't have it.

I've been checking the VIN daily for the last 10 days since I was advised of the VIN.

I don't know if it had still been in production during that 10 days or if it had been sitting in a holding yard. My dealer hasn't been proactive in keeping me informed of when she had the VIN so it may have been available before I was advised if it.

It seems, for me, and possibly for you, that the VIN didn't show up as valid until the ship had actually been at sea for 6 days.

If yours was due to leave on 9 Mar I'd say it's either on board with mine and actually left on 8 Mar, or, if they have another ship leaving 1 day after mine left then your tracking should logically show up within 24 hrs.

I don't think they'd have two ships leaving 1 day apart. My bet is it's on with mine.

VIN = Vehicle Identification Number.

Same as chassis number or vehicle ID. It's on the compliance plate.

Hmm I'm the screen shot I have from dealer it is two different numbers. The chassis # is longer than the other prefixed with WVGZZZ

Mine arrives at the docks in Melbourne tomorrow morning. Now for the 2-3 week wait. Wish there could be a way of tracking the car once it has landed like you do when you track the ship.

Same here! I have also been checking daily. I was actually hoping it may of shipped early as I received the "I'm built" email a couple of days earlier than scheduled.

In saying that, I haven't received a shipping email yet and my personalised "special website" now returns an error message. Anyone else had that problem?

I never received any of those emails or links, and the VIN only showed up 6 days after the vessel carrying my vehicle left port.

All I can say is keep checking. If it doesn't show up in a day or two then it's probably on a later vessel.
