Well X5 was 2009 and pretty basic as it didn't have all the options. I remember my Grandfather's 2008 Passat having more options on it than my X5 [emoji23] sucks! Just had a badge that's about it. My X5 was basically in sports mode 24/7. That's how it was set up and it made you drive like an *******, it's just how the car was set up to drive. The Tiguan with it's comfort mode makes you drive nice and smooth which is the best! X5 was Diesel and the Tiguan is Petrol and I prefer petrol [emoji1362] X5 had an 80L tank I think and I'd get like around 800km range. This new Tiguan reminds me of a small car, bout $65 to fill up with 98. Tiguan has stock speakers and it's way better than the X5's stock speakers [emoji23]
Hi all you Tiguan buyers that have been told your Tiguan is on the TALISMAN.
Just a little heads-up.
It is scheduled to dock in Port Kembla 6:00 pm this afternoon.
That is 3 days ahead oh its original scheduled date.
Whoo Hoo!!!!!
I am praying for a speedy passage through customs, and Dealer pre- delivery with absolutely no transit or build damage.
14 to 21 sleepless nights and counting down.

Ordered: 2017 build date Tiguan 162 TSI Highline with DAP in Tungsten Silver and rear luggage tray. ETA: late April / Early May. I did not have to wait. I took delivery on 11 March 2017.
Seriously wtf..... [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] I gotta take it back so they can readjust the cameras.

There is a calibration of the camera that can be done by the dealer. It involves a wheel alignment of all four wheels and then a pattern is laid down around the vehicle for it to calibrate to.
It's time consuming so the dealer won't want to do it.
For anyone that has this type of 360 camera, if you disconnect one of the cameras for any reason (replacing a side mirror, front bumper or boot) you will have to have the camera recalibrated. Don't know what VW dealers charge for it, but Audi dealers charge roughly $1500. Make sure you factor this in if you're involved in an accident and you may have to recalibrate the camera, make sure its included in the panel beaters quote.
From the photos it looks like yours was never calibrated correctly from the factory, or was done in a rush to fill demand for these vehicles. Push the safety line. It's an aid to parking which is giving you incorrect guidance. I'd also be concerned that the park assist may also be out of calibration.

True, thanks for your info filled response [emoji1360] I will ask next time I go in. If they ask me $1500 for it even though it's their fault I'll just decline and take it on the chin. It's annoying but I can live with it.

No brainer this will be covered by warranty. It's out of calibration from the factory. Don't even entertain paying a cent for it.
Don't just live with it. It will annoy you every time you use it, and you may scrape a rim one day using its incorrect information. Get it fixed.

Even the automatic parking is inconvenienced by the bad calibration. Luckily when I used this once for parallel parking, only my tyre touched the curb thank God!!!! Those R-Line Rims could've been destroyed! [emoji33]
But thanks, I will argue that it should be covered by warranty.
When I use the mirrors, old fashion style, I'm always quick and straight in the parking spot. When I use the rear camera I constantly have to adjust, and find the car is mostly not straightly aligned. But the Areaview does give a proper alignment when I'm properly parked.
Maybe it's a personal thing?
For the first time in my life I damaged a rim (the 20 inch Suzuka) because I trusted too much on the Area view camera...

Ahhhh that sucks man. Maybe about $200 to fix it no biggy. And yeah it's just my car I reckon. Like a defect.
Hm, the rim was sent to a specialist in Auckland (New Zealand). At first the quoted price was NZ$500.00.
The price for a new 20" Suzuka rim is.... wait for it..... twothousandeighthundred NZ dollars...
So I said, well if I take it to my insurer I'll pay a little more than $500.00 (actually $700.00)... and get a new rim.
He gave in, and now it's $345.00
The 20" Suzuka rim is quite a complicated one. You might want to have a close look, the flat aluminium surface is not smooth but is "turned", with a transparent layer of lacquer on top of it. And then there's the painted parts, but they were untouched.
In the meantime the ABS system has given a strange warning while it was at the dealer, but couldn't find a fault in the system.
They've installed an extra USB cable at the top of the windshield, for the dash cam.
A local car electronics specialist that AUDI/VW said they always refer to. The important thing to keep in mind here; the car electronics that are used for the windshield camera are also in that same spot. If they are messed with, your safety systems may not work (emergency braking).

Yeah, that's why I want to make sure it's installed properly and by someone who VW recommend.
