Electric tailgate control module

Hi, does anyone know where the tailgate control module is located? Also, if its being replaced, does the module need to be programmed or is it a plug and play replacement?
Having issues with the tailgate. Have replaced the struts but still not working as it should. The diagnostic report from the auto-elec also indicated the control module was faulty. So want to try this next.
