I think the VIN matching to TCU during build is a BS story the dealership made up as an excuse, especially after you putting a bit of pressure on yours magically appears now after you were just last week given an ETA of late August..2019 Tiguan R-Line - IS38 Turbo - Spectuned - X-Force Downpipe - RS7 Spark Plugs - CTS Inlet Elbow - ECS Inlet Pipe - K&N Panel Filter - Golf R Muffler - APR Exhaust Controller - Superpro Rear Swaybar - Digital Dash Retrofitted - 034 Dogbone Mount - DBA T3 Rotors & Pads - Golf R Springs

The dealership has been good about this and unless they're bloody good actors, they've been as frustrated as I have.
I'm willing to give them a free pass on this unless someone can tell me for sure that it's bullcrap
I was told the VIN matching "story" when I was checking the car in almost 9 weeks ago. Can't see why they'd make up crap to cover a 4 week blowout in the delivery before the blowout happened ...
Anyway - I pick it up tomorrow. I'm happyMY17 Volkswagen Tiguan 162TSI Highline, DAP, Sunroof, Caribbean Blue

Hi all.
I have the same issue with my 2018 Tiguan. Left it at dealership. Been told about 4-5 weeks to get part from Germany. No replacement car as it’s four years old and out of warranty. Is there a way to get a hire car from VW? Also apparently it’s over $3000 to replace the unit.MY18 TIGUAN 162TSI Sportline | DarkNight Tint

So it’s been already almost 7 weeks and no word from the dealer. Called them midweek and they have no idea when the part is coming to them as it’s “built to order”. Which is strange since the part is the part of current Tiguan lineup. It’s not like I have 15 year old car and it was discontinued and any parts are hard to find.
Getting a bit annoying being without a car for two months especially since the car is only 4 years old.
I’ve noticed that if VW/dealership doesn’t offer the hire car, they drag their feet. However, when you take their loan car everything is done within days/hours.MY18 TIGUAN 162TSI Sportline | DarkNight Tint

1. ours took 9 weeks. And the part just turned up one day. NO way to track it
2. we had car hire for the entire 9 weeks (if you can call a Kia crapola a car)MY17 Volkswagen Tiguan 162TSI Highline, DAP, Sunroof, Caribbean Blue

Hi all, this just happened to my 2018 Tiguan.. went into emergency mode and I couldn’t reverse. I turned the car off and waited … when I turned it back on the amber warning light came on and it drove ok then a few hours later no warning lights at all and I was able to drive home.
I would like to know which service Centre in Sydney people have been able to get hold of a hire car? Thanks sooo much

Just about to go through the same pain. Have done 76,000 KMs in my 2017 R Line. If I drive over 100km in distance I get the dreaded emergency mode.... Losing all the odd gears... Engine warning light and then fine the next day. Took car into independent VW specialist who said that error log was inconclusive to confirm if I have a mechatronic or not. Will now take Tiguan to VW dealer for a goodwill gesture to fix.... Whatever the problem is.
