Does anyone find the rearview camera useless at night with minimal lighting? Is there a setting I'm supposed to change. Failing this I was thinking of installing a discrete rear light under the bumper.
Put your foot lightly on the brake. Doesnt your reversing light work
It does but I've recently driven other cars and realised we dont have a true IR camera which gives much better night vision. You know when the camera view is that weird grey or green colour at night and animal eyes glow
Yeah its not great, I live rurally and often the only source of light are the reverse lights unless you have an IR camera. I am gonna get a discrete LED lightbar put in.

Make sure you wire it up so it only comes on with reverse gear as there are regs about white lights facing rearward

Surprised to hear the Santa Fe camera giving better performance at night than the VW.
I’ve driven several Kia/Hyundai models and heaps of VW in the last 3 years and at night the VW (even base mode polo’s) get less noise than the Kia.
The Mazda is just a lower resolution- so loses on both fronts (noise and potential clarity)
My 360 camera is perfectly aligned, too. In your case call the dealer and book in so they fix it.
