  • Front bumper removal

Hello, new here. Came from a MK7 Alltrack. Just bought a 2020 Tiguan and am trying to swap the H7 halogen headlights for new H7 LED’s. Is there a step by step in how to remove the front bumper? I’ve watched a few videos, but I am really struggling where the bumper, fender and wheel well come together. I’m really scared to brake it. Any way, any advice appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Make sure you undo all the screws inside the wheel arches (including the one hidden at the top). It's easier if you turn the front wheels full lock.

Once all the screws are out it requires a firm tug to take it off the clips at the top.

Ok. Thanks. Think I got that, but, if I disconnect the Front assist, will it need recalibrated? I’ve read varying information.

      Thanks

Dealers will always say it needs recalibration which may be technically correct. It is also the legally safe standpoint as nothing will come to bite them in the bum if they tell you to recalibrate the sensors after taking the bumper off.

My experience is that it still worked fine after having the bumper off and lowering. Though from a legal point of view I can't advise you that you'll be fine
