I get a rattle from the parcel shelf over bumps. It's getting more pronounced as the car ages (it's still under 5000km). I'm pretty sure it's coming from the drivers-side mounting pin where the shelf clicks into the bracket. I can remove the shelf to stop the noise but I'd really like to keep it in place. Haven't got the dealer's opinion yet as it used to be infrequent, but now it's pretty regular.

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

The noise was loudest on the nearside of the engine between the engine and the firewall
It was prominent on start up, until the idle reduced (about 37 secs into the video.
Once this happened, you could only hear it under load when accelerating (gradual and WOT) between about 2,000 and 3,600 RPM
Revving the engine while in neutral, it was almost imperceptible

Hello,
Long time reader, first time poster here. My Tiguan Rline has developed a creaking noise while turning. It is only noticeable when turning the wheel while standing or low speed.
I asked the dealer to check it out, but said there was no fault found. Hope this link works to video file of sound (listen out for low pitch creaking) Microsoft OneDrive - Access files anywhere. Create docs with free Office Online.Last edited by Blackyjj; 08-10-2021, 06:33 PM.

I’ve seen the video clip on UK Tiguan forum where a guy who is based in Taiwan had the problem - that sounded really mechanically problematic as he lets off his foot. That’s probably what you had?
Edit: Found the video - - YouTube
