2018/19 Tiguan Rear Light Cluster

Hey guys,

Are the rear lights more slightly tinted on the Wolfsburg cos I saw one the other day and the lights looked awesome.

If they are, has anyone fitted to a normal 162 highline Tiguan and if so where can you get them (other than the stealers)?

The 162 R-Line has the slightly tinted taillights too. I don't think it's an exclusive Wolfsburg feature.

I can't actually see that they're tinted in the specs. But they look tinted to me.

Perhaps get your car and a 162 together and compare them. I imagine a VW dealer would let you do this or they may have the two different models in stock.

Why tint them The lights are there to stand out and be seen. I have never seen the logic in aesthetics over functionality.

I would have to ask why you bought an R-Line package then. They are all about looking better. No doubt the ride is better on the smaller wheels of the standard Highline too.

Now dont get get me wrong, I think tinting lights is crazy.
Can’t wait to retake delivery of my R-Line either, only 6 weeks to go hopefully. I optioned the package because I think it looks better.

Yes it does and it comes with quite few improvements as well which convinced me to spend the extra money But I must have been shafted because Ive just got plain old untinted tail lights

I wonder if it's a Wolfsburg upgrade vs standard R Line package
My '18 Allspace R Line doesn't have tinted rear lights.
Many years ago I used a spray tint to darken my rear lights.
Worked well for a $10 jobbie.
