Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Rear Mudflaps for RLine

Here is what I did to get rears on my Rline

I bought some that supposedly fitted off Ebay
They didnt because the bit that fits over the black plastic wheel surround is to narrow.

So I carved that piece off and with a heat gun I massaged the outer piece to fit closer against the surround trim and just used two screws to hold them on

    Like this

Had to cut the pice i 4th pic off and heat the bit in the third one to move it across to match the existing body screw

They do however look quite neat and sort of factory

Nice. I’d like mud flaps for my Golf R but I didn’t think they were available at all.

Special for you via Google LOL 5NA075111A Here are the instructions even I did mine without taking wheels off as I have a right angle drill chuck and got it in ok
Make sure you attach each one by the existing screw as shown and adjust them carefully to match each side Then drill the top hole and put plug in to locate it securely then do the others. I am pretty fussy about things being even LOL

I did most with the wheel on full lock with the rear of it inward and then swapped it to get inner plug in with right angle chuck in behind the wheel.
