But I do get that it may be a little loud now. I'm planning on putting the Golf R exhaust in with the middle resonator (when I get my hands on one).
    Yeah angry beast!!

The mufflers from the Tiguan and the Golf R are almost identical, shape size and even the indentations are the in the same places. Not sure what the internals are like but the only visual difference of course is the extra two outlets. Surely if you can't find one (or borrow the one in the workshop) then drill two holes and weld a pipe to it, probably be the same outcome.

Yes I would recommend them, thought their work to be of good quality and they had the patience to work and understand what I wanted and gave suggestions. I normally read up on reviews before I go and hand over $$$. Because mine was abit complex they charged me $580 but thats including the tail tips too. Another place in Sunshine wanted to charge $270 before doing any custom work. Some more around Melbourne had waiting period of 6-8 weeks or required the car over two business days!

What are you driving or wanting to get done?
Thanks Razor - will keep them in mind when I get around to it.

Also looking to swap out the exhaust for the mk7 R, but won’t be getting onto it for some time. Looking to stagger the mods over the next couple of years.

After doing my MK7.5 R muffler exchange I've decided to return it to stock look. It was abit too loud for what I intended my build being a sleeper. Looked really good and eventually sounded really nice after a couple of sports resonators being added. Popped on every gear change and had a real deep throaty sound rather then the high pitched drone I was getting.

So anyway, the stock muffler stays and the MK7.5 R muffler is to be sold. Will bolt up to any MQB Tiguan or Allspace with slight welding or joiner pipe to an existing system.
If anyone is interested PM me.

That it definitely had, now no more but the quietness on my long daily drives and the early morning start ups, this now suits. Especially my family and with my neighbours!

You never know a proper of the shelf system for the Allspace may become available in the next 3-5 years, so might consider it then if I went stage 4 and for track only use.

            • Yeah, I think VW must know they could shift some Tiguan R models - there's certainly demand.
I presume it'll be the SWB, and maybe not the Allspace though.
              One can only hope

              • So I thought I'll test this Dragy device, since I've it arrived 6 days ago and it was yet to be used.
Just a quick play around today and no launch control used in these 0-100 results. Ground surface is bitumen and quite flat.

1st run - 6.12sec in "D" + tyres slighty damp (quick wash) curved road.
2nd run - 5.23sec in "S" tyres still damp and span in 1st
                3rd run - 4.56sec in "S" tyres now warm.

So far really pleased with those results especially for a big suv. Be really interesting once I actually (gain the courage) to try using LC.

Think I most likely need to invest in some springs, front end just lifts, while the rear digs deep! Once off the line its somewhat fine but a little boaty as the beast just wants to keep going!!
Anyone have any recommendations H&R or Eilbac, or are there others? Definitely a track day for me or dragstrip once this is done, if there are any are coming up?

Oil temps stays around 104-107C normal driving, racemode it peaks to 110C and I don't want it about that! Would definitely need an oil cooler of some sort if any have an recommendation?

Oh btw - I now changed my Turbosmart Dual port DV as it had a faulty solenoid and kept releasing too much pressure or got stuck open so momentarily lost all boost! After 2 of these I decided with there diverter valve instead and got to admit it does sound better and ultimately I've noticed less lag but I could be imagining this... So far so good, it's working well.

                • This is why I've decided to get the Racingline Oil Cooler. It's expensive, but my aim is to keep this car for a while so I want things to last.

                  • My thoughts exactly, it's also my daily family car and have no intention on selling it anytime soon.

What would all consider normal oil temp range 100-115c? I read somewhere some get more after hard thrashing around 125c, sounds extreme too me! What is the optimum temp once an oil cooler is fitted, climate pending?

                    • The newer oils don't mind a bit of temperature. I wouldn't be concerned in the slightest at 125s

The oils not really my concern, more engine being cooled and lubricating the all required components efficiently and effectively.

If a cooler maintained temps to around 95-100c would this be a negative impact on the oil being too weight or velocity?

                        • Read just about this whole thing. Just awesome. Nice big SUV that moves like that.. what a sleeper!

Clearly I'm getting older but it's amazing what new cars do with some bolt on's.

Great work so far Razor80 !

                          • MQB seem to run over 100 degrees normally.

                            My MK6 R ran low 90's

                            • From experience of years of tracking cars this is my take.

                              90+ deg is minimum.
Sub 115 is probably ideal for daily driven street cars and street use. No matter the mod level.

120-130 (intermittent) is starting to get to the limit of the service intervals lifespan. And is not ideal for road use as the motor is running hot and cooling is struggling to maintain equilibrium

Anything close to 150 is not ideal (in my eyes) for any car. Even heavily tracked cars even with very short oil change intervals.

At 160 + oil starts to rapidly break down. And the lubricating properties are starting to be compromised (here is reference to the usual 0w50 type thin oils)

Thanks REXman - Yes it's quite impressive what some bolt ons and good tuning can achieve. It certainly suprises those 'boy ricers' out there, just a quick blast in 2nd gear and cya haha
