Do you do the 1500 km oil change yourself or do it at a dealer ?

Always myself. Never had anyone to change my oil. It’s risky enough to have only necessary warranty work done there.

You want to load it up, just drive it hard to be honest.

I put ours into S mode and set the TPS at 100% lol. On it's 2nd tank of fuel, it saw a dozen hard launches with launch control.

A few weeks later, took it on unsealed roads and spun all fours in the mud.

12k kms later and oil wise it's at the half way mark where as other people who have some what "babied" theirs have gotten low oil warning.

I redlined mine out of the dealership the same as we did for all 3 of our VW's and drove it like I stole it for the next hour or so and none of our VW's need oil between services. One was a diesel, two were petrol.

What 1500km oil change are we talking about? The first service is 15,000km as far as I know and that is what mine got. They haven't chewed oil or blown up so it seems to be ok to go to 15,000.

If you change the oil yourself, do you still do an annual service at the dealership to maintain the service book to be compliant for the warranty ?

I suspect he has other licenced and registered mechanics easily available to perform the service- at least so much to satisfy the law regarding consumer vehicle warranty (ie- get the book stamped to tick the box)

I think Transporter is quite well qualified to change his own oil - he's a VW tech with 30+ years experience and has his own mobile service business
