As I said before , forget about VW marketing craps , the older one is bigger, high resolution and better looking picture .The post above with compare DPI and resolution clearly confirm this. The new smaller display is just low cost version same as in t-roc ,Skoda's with just ability to display full map. Speed has nothing to do with AID but with 5F radio media unit .
VAG trying now to make bigger gap difference between Audi premium also maybe Luxury Tuareg to standard VW class cars. I think is no secret that Audi q5 sales are very low because price of fully loaded Rline Tiguan taking lots of Audi q5 potential customers away, and plus buyers save about 20k with similar top specs equipment car.

I find it odd that the old one has me see the fuel capacity three times on the one screen. 1. Actual fuel gauge, 2. the blue line around the speedo and 3. the distance to empty inside the speedo.

Yeah, and in some views you have the speed displayed 3x too.
I do like how it can be dynamic in showing different things in the same view depending on how much fuel you have etc

So its the same as in the Audi's enabling the whole screen to be the GPS.

Wonder if there will be a VCDS / OBD11 tweek to have the Audi style dials like the large taco in the middle.

Interesting to know if the units in the Lamborghinis are the same with different theme or a totally different unit. I remember seeing the ****ty GPS in my MK6 R being the same unit as a 500k Bentley just with a different faceplate.

I'm booked in to pickup my Tiguan this coming Thursday fingers crossed. If it has the new AID (dealer doesn't know if it will), I'll upload some videos once I've had a chance to play.

Has anyone worked out how to activate the clock in the new aid - they have removed which is stupid and the only clock in the car now in on the infotainment unit and it moves to a different place with every function / screen change

I haven't tried personally but from what I've read online, it's not possible.

One difference between versions is that in the original one the top line where the clock is is actually a panel with lights in it, whereas the new AID is all a screen like a TV with no physical bulbs

I'm pretty sure the top panel is only warning lights and indicators.
The clock is part of the digital screen
