  • Cheap Tiguan (compatible) wheels

I’d like a cheap set of wheels and tyres for basic off-road driving.

I’m hoping that there will be other vw vehicles that use the same stud and offset numbers as the current Tiguan/allspace, so I can buy a second hand set of 16’s to put tyres on.

Please tell me I’m correct. Or feel free to recommend a cheap supplier of wheels that are suited.

    Cheers.

Will mk1 Tiguan 16’s fit? Found a cheap set online.

Not sure but I have heard that 16's won't clear your front brakes (you'd need to test fit to be sure).

Also tyres from a mk1 Tig will be wrong size so you'll need to swap these off for something the correct profile (to keep speedo accurate).

        That's what I did.

Replaced rubber with some A/T tyres (225/70R16) - great stuff!

          Cheap Tiguan (compatible) wheels

I’ve got a cheap set of 16” 5x112 CSA Essen wheels that have a 215/65r16 Yokohama GO15 all terrains. They fit my Passat Alltrack quite well with no rubbing of note. Tiguan wheel arch is bigger than a Passat isn’t it?

17” rims, 225/65 pirelli scorpion all-terrain plus tyres.

The brake calipers must be so close on the 16’s. I only have about 10mm clearance with these particular wheels.

I suspect it will depend on the design of the wheel a bit too. Some may clear OK and others may be too close for comfort.

If you zoom in on the first pic you can see the brake clearance.

I’ve just got to test fit them now on our B8 Passat to see if it fits the same.
