Larger rotors doesn't necessarily mean larger brake pads, manufacturers often change the caliper design/mounting points but use the same pads on larger rotors.
Random enough, I have a set of Elig Sports pads for a MK6 GTI, took it from the supplier to take some stock photos for my website (really need to get off my ar5e and finish it off LOL).
