There is very little room left in a standard 5.4meter garage either with tow hitch. The "likes" of a land cruiser would be Izuzu Mux. That will have all capabilities and just enough room to move around it in the garage with tow hitch. But, to come full circle, the Tiguan does do the job well and yes, towing is only a small part of each year.

Yes very true as I put a hole in rear of garage more than once. HOWEVER it is illegal to drive around with your tow hitch on if not towing. Strange but true. In answer to Flipper Dog Well my Cruiser did 10per 100 around town and the Tig did 9.6 on average so not enough to worry about. Yes the Tig is much more of a "car" than the Cruiser as I wore outside of my fronts off on the 7 roundabouts on my way to work. Always late at 430am. Did have a second car so mainly used that on short trips. After 2 years of vanning sold the whole rig and bought a Passat wagon Much more economical as it also was a diesel Went Bribie to Coffs and return on 56 Ltrs and 1049km. Honestly I didnt quite believe it either.

I bought my Tig. diesel in Brisbane & most of the trip up to the SA border with no AC running it showed 5.3 ltrs/100 & I couldn't believe it either.
My son & daughter both have 200 series [daughter has 2] & she drove us [5 people] into Palm Valley in the rougher one & no way would I consider driving my tig in there.
The 200 series would use twice the fuel of the Tig.
Understand how it works, troubleshoot logically BEFORE replacing parts.

I run a Pajero Sport in Inner West Sydney. It's only a fraction longer than our Golf Alltrack wagon. No issues parking except height for a few 1.9m parking stations. It uses maybe $3.00 more fuel per 100km than the Alltrack.
