  • Wheel Kerb Damage Repairs

    Hi guys,

My Suzuka wheel strayed to close to the kerb...

Do you have any recommendation on alloy wheel repair in Melbourne?
and how much damage to the wallet should I expect?

+1 for wheel solutions - quality workmanship. But as a heads up, you're paying for what you get.

You know you can't take the racing line where there's a kerb?

100%. I had an Audi V-Spoke kerbed when I lived in Melbourne and they did a perfect job, and yes was happy to pay to make the pain go away.

And I never took the racing line again through *that* corner in South Melbourne again.

That's the problem with machine finished wheels. You're up for a decent chunk of change to repair any curb damage as it's quite an involved process.

First you take the tyre off the rim, machine the face, put new clear coat on, remount tyre and off you go. Often you're talking about different places to do each step as not everyone will have a tyre machine, large lathe and paint boot all under the one roof. So you're also paying for labour/freight to take the wheel from one place to the next.
