Also noticed this. I seriously think it’s a ‘bug’ Somewhat related to the ‘since start’ trip computer settings.

My car has now decided to never reset ‘since start’ whether it’s a 30min gap, or 24hrs(serious) it used to reset somewhere in the 1-3hr window(and it varied, even then) but over the last 2 weeks, it’s changed to just never resetting.
Seat heater settings are a sometimes remembered/sometimes not option now .
Again over a variety of time gaps.

Seeing I started this thread I may as well add another one. I have the original entertainment unit and primarily listen to audio books which show the cover of the book on the screen being played. Today I found by accident that that I can scroll through the covers by placing my finger on the cover of the book playing and moving my finger sideways on the screen and the available books are displayed in a tiled fashion like on a computer, select the one you want from the tile and it plays with no need to find the source and select from a list.

When in reverse with the camera on, if you activate the rear windshield spray jet by pushing the right stick all the way forward and holding, There is a water jet built into the reverse camera that activates and cleans that as well.

I saw this on a youtube video the other day (can't remember which, something about hidden features on a tiguan).

When the car is in normal mode and the gear stick is in the D/S position , if you pull straight back on the stick and let go it switches to sport mode. Pull back again and it goes into normal again. I found this by accident as I always had a manual for 30 odd years and the brain got confused one day and tried to shift gears. This is my preferred method now to shift from D to S mode.

Actually no. I just about never use the paddles , mainly because even in sport mode the gearbox keeps changing the gears by itself ( downshifting when slowing down). Its pretty annoying. My other car is a Jag XF S and when in sport mode you must make every shift like in a real manual. That works well for my brain. I just can't get used to the Tiguan's paddles for some reason when it makes half the gear changes for you.

And when the paddle shifters WONT shift gears.
My diesel refuses to do 1-2 and 2-3 below 2300rpm.
It’s a horrible system setting. Almost as though it has a n/a petrol calibration, as opposed to a turbo diesel.
It makes the driving experience feel **** during suburban driving.

If you use the paddle shifter in D/S mode after 60 sec it will revert back to auto. To use the paddle shifters like a real manual you need to shift the gear stick to the left, then it wont auto shift. It will only shift down at low revs to prevent the car from stalling.

I use it for the occasional sport blast, but still use the drive mode selector as the sport settings really stiffen up the suspension compared to my individual mode which I have DCC on comfort mode.

I use the manual mode on long downhill descents of which we have a few of around here, one is about 4km, I move the lever to the left and select the gear either via the gear lever or using the paddles. When the gear lever is in the right hand position and the paddles have been used to select a gear then holding the right hand paddle up towards the steering wheel reverts back to the selected mode on the lever.
