Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I think your find it’s not just the US market. Standard on most Mercs here in Aus.

In the user manual they show a performance monitor and I have seen other SWB Tiguan have this screen in the entertainment unit, but I can’t seem to find it on my Allspace
How do you get the gauges on the screen?

The Golf 7 has in mirror warning or at least ours does. Between the two I like the Tiguan better as the Golf's is a bit anaemic in comparison.

If you go to main screen then “vehicle”
            Then bottom left “selection”
            Then “sport”
You will have either the gauges or swipe sideways for the “lap timer”

They need to, the manual in my merc (other car) is bloody huge, I only look at it when there a problem, most problems can be solved by google first.

                Thanks Fred
I've searched but cannot find it - no sport option
I wonder if this is an omission on Allspace model?

Hoping to learn something today....how do I delete phones from the list of paired devices?
somehow, I paired my iPad and now it’s listed as one of my “phones”
Can’t seem to find any way to delete it out of the list even after checking the manual several times

                  any help appreciated

Ok, so doesn't look like anyone has needed to delete a paired phone yet...

But learned something new yesterday when filling up the car. I hopped out, locked the car and then went to open the fuel flap...
                      No luck, it was locked!
So had to unlock the car, then open the flap before locking the car.
Can't believe it's been nearly 7 months before this has happened to me.
Usually I lock the car as I head to pay at the counter, but this time for some reason I locked the car when I first got out.

Yes fuel flap locks when you lock the car. Has caught me out once or twice when I swipe the drivers door to lock when getting out to only have to put my hand in the handle to unlock.

Manual was no help, but finally found out where this option is located.

                              System settings->Bluetooth settings->delete paired device
Would make more sense to me if this was located in the phone setting menu...

I've noticed recently with the cooler weather that when using the seat warmers, they usually reset to "off" after the ignition is turned off and you leave the car for a while.
However, during short stops - eg filling up the car with fuel, or ducking into the shops to grab some bread/milk, when I come back to start the car, the seat warmers stays on last setting - usually low setting.
This probably also explains the similar events when doing similar short stops and then restarts, the Nav nag screen doesn't always come on.

Is there a preset time that the ignition can be turned off and the settings will be remembered - like the seat warmers?
                                5 mins?

BTW, I don't want the seat warmers to remember last setting, I like them the way they currently operate, but just curious if anyone else noticed the above?
