  • Hey Orpheus,
Great car, not gonna comment on the photos of your Wolfy cos under lights doesn't mean anything but take lots of photos cos your car will never look this good again . Remember clear coat is harder than your ceramic so careful maintenance is key, don't let anybody fool you.
Current: MkVI Golf GTI. Tiguan 162 Highline Pure white, DAP/Rline/Sun.
    Gone: Tiguan 103TDI.

Care to share your experiences with paint protection? Everything I’ve read says it makes a massive difference compared to uncoated. Considering it when I get my car

Not saying it doesn't. What massive differences are you talking about, sure longevity, hydrophobicity (is that a word?) are all superior to say a sealant or wax, but you still need to take care looking after it, just as you would with a wax or sealant.

So the moral of the story is no matter which colour choice or whichever paint protection option (or not), you still need to maintain, clean & wipe your car regularly for it to look smick and shiny. This goes for black, white, silver, grey etc as they all require some effect to maintain. My last 4 cars were white and it takes the same process and frequency to wipe the exterior after rain or a dust storm.

And yes, I’ve owned all the car colours so I can comment. [emoji851]

Did you end up coding this or was it on by default? If by default that’s interesting because the wolfy I test drove last year didn’t have it.

Oops, I meant dynamic cornering headlights not DLA (haven’t gotten a OBDEleven coding unit yet).

                5. HUD is great for checking the speed but the plastic panel is an eye sore
‘This is gonna take a while to get use too. My trade in has an excellent HUD!

Can you change the colour or is it just different shades of ambient white?

                13. Genuine Rubber floor mats and plastic boot liner arrived from eBay
Ive looked but can’t seem to find them, could you please provide links?

This one feature of my trade in is my most hated, although it stops starts fine, it’s the moments where you come to a complete stop for half a second then take off again when it becomes annoying. Hopefully the Wolfsburg is better

                2. Black roof racks
                3. Centre console tray

Still in love with the car [emoji7]
What roof racks are you considering? The black wing edge from Thule are the ones I want, but I think they won’t fit because of the sun roof.

Finally, do you have a link to the centre console tray your considering?

Great write up mate, I look forward to your thoughts as you get more use to the car!

                  Thanks JD!

The forum precludes me from sending links from other suppliers so let me pm you my email address for correspondence. Items are all available on ebay.

Couldn’t find the setting to change the interior lights yet (maybe I need to read the manual)! [emoji17]

Roof racks looking at the Whispbar matte black type. It is raised so will provide enough clearance from the panoroof. Cost is mid $300s.

These ones from Whispbar are very low set which might interfere with the operation of the panoroof so Its not ideal.

                        Nice!

Solar Style is where I've booked in to do my Opticote, tint andprotective film. They came highly recommend.

Did you go for opticoat pro+ or the standard opticoat?

would love to know what you paid, so far I’ve been quoted $1100 and $995 to have the pro+ applied

                            It's opticoat pro+.

It was $1455 for paint, wheels, interior and glass. This includes a single stage paint correction and a loan car.

                              $1000ish isn't a bad price.

$1445 for mine. Paint, windows wheels and 3M tint. I'm flipping an extra $200 to get a different tint film with a higher IR rejection.
