I’m considering between Opti-Coat Pro (which I used before on my Golf GTI in White - although it didn’t help much as white is not a high gloss colour) or GTechniq Crystal Serum Pro.
I’m leaning towards the GTechniq as it has a high shine factor especially good for black colours which is what I’m getting. There’s plenty of YT videos to compare the two. Both are around $1k-1.3k depending on who you talk too.
I got a great quote from Universal Tint in Five Dock for GTechniq Crystal Serum Plus with EXO top layer and window tinting for front windows for $1.1k. Other places were quoting $1.2k-$1.4k.

i'm planning to get Opti-Coat Pro on my new Tig but it's white, so it's not useful?
Opticoat Pro Plus does look considerably more glossy. My Manganese Grey will get the Pro Plus treatment I think. Is the GTechniq Crystal Serum Plus as permanent* as the Opticoat?
* I know nothing is strictly permanent

The GTechniq has a 9 year warranty whereas OC has 5 or 7 years warranty. I think both are good options but I will try the GTechniq this time around as I think it’s more glossy looking.

Black Wolfy with Panoroof on order - Arriving mid Jan......
So I’ve enquired a few places in Sydney for Caliper painting services and the quotes are $250-$300 to paint all four.
I’ve decided I will get my calipers painted but not sure of the colour for a black Wolfy?
1. Orange - colour will stand out and not to dissimilar to the red brake lights?
2. Red - compliment the red brake lights?
3. Blue (my preference) - stands out from the crowd?
Here’s some late pics. I de badged the whole car badges. I know some people will hate it but I prefer smooth symmetry. People know it’s a vw that’s all they need to know. Lol unless your in the know.

I think the red. Can you share details of where you are getting it done as I want to as well?
Hey guys I’m a panel beater and spray painter by trade. I think your getting a little over charged. I live out west and I’m more than happy to help you guys do your own brakes. It’s really not hard at all. Especially the car being brand new it’s simple. I want to do mine at home but have no air compressor. So if any body wants their wheels done in a two pac gloss which is better than any can. I’ll do it for free if you can lend me your compressor and I’ll do mine and yours in the same day. No short cuts I’m evan smoothing out my front calliper so it’s smooth. If your interested give me a shout out. I don’t take short cuts. I work at a leading prestige shop but I’m more than happy to help you guys out.

Excellent idea! I’m in but I don’t have a compressor and my car doesn’t arrive until Jan.
Can we rent a compressor?

So I noticed the brake calipers on the Wolfy (most Tiguans) as pictured below - very aesthetically boring and uninspiring. Plus there is no flat surface where I can install any “R” decal stickers....[emoji21]
Close up:
So I found another alternative to painting and also changing the look of the calipers is this video on YT for installing prepainted caliper covers which looks nice as well!
Installation is straight forward and comes in many colours. Only issue with the covers is that it’s made of plastic....
Thoughts on covers ($50 on eBay) vs painting ($250) the calipers directly?
I've painted the last couple of sets with this Foliatec caliper paint and I have to say it's the best stuff I've used yet (have done a couple of sets with the VHT high temp spray cans as well).
Here's a video:
Pretty simple process. Recommend putting your car up on jack stands and doing all 4 calipers at once. The 2 pack paint does go off reasonably quickly and sets hard like enamel. I still have a great finish and smart looking calipers 12 months on.
