I know some of the local detailers will push cars in/out in a day and you’re lucky if it’s under lamps for 20 minutes.
I guess it’s better than nothing but you generally get what you pay for.
A lot of the time required to do these coatings properly is in the preparation and curing (12-24 hours each). There’s no point putting on a coating over blemishes as they’ll stay in the paint forever. Then if you are going to spend $ and hours in paint prep you need to spend the time curing the product after it’s been applied. Otherwise you may as well not bothered.
It ends up being a very labour intensive process and taking 2-3 days to do “properly”. If they take short cuts it’s going to be cheaper but then you end up with a so-so job.

I’m paint protecting my car tomorrow. I’m using what we use at work. We’re a Mercedes Benz approved repairer so we have to use what they tell us and permagard is what they use. It’s not a two pack paint protection that’s baked on with infrared heat lights. But if it’s used by jets for quantas and only porsh and Mercedes approved paint protection and it’s for free from work than I’m a use it. It’s a tedious process. 1 wash car two 2 clay bar it to remove all contamination in the paint. 3 isopropyl the whole car to get all polishes and waxes off the paint. Than finally you can buff the paint protection onto the car. Not with a free spin buff but an oscillating buffer. Beats me why but hey lol that’s my job tomoz.
Yup all VW dealerships promote Permaguard and I’ve seen a car with it applied and it looks great. The colour is deeper and the finish is more glossy. However it’s not as glossy as the Quartz Glass coating that’s I’ve seen.... however if it’s free then why not [emoji3]

Your getting closer n closer till your new baby arrives.
You can't beat free. But all the $ for the paint protection is in the labour it's not actually in the coating.
iv been going at it since 6 am and iv only just finished the right hand side guard doors and quater panel loli didn’t know vw pushed permagard lol I work at parramatta smash that’s what we use there so I just took advantage of it lol
I had my last car done in Permagard at the dealership for $350. It was pretty good but after 12 months started to lose its shine.
Just had my new Wolfsburg Tig done in Ceramic Pro, inside and out, including rims. Not done at dealership but at Ceramic Pro detailing premises. $850. The product looks absolutely mint and lifetime warranty. My mate has been installing this product on high end Euro vehicles for a number of years and swears by it. See how it goes but early visual it displaces water far better than Permagard and the shine is pretty crazy. Considering the last car and the new Tig are the same colour you can definitely see the difference between those two products.

Yeah your probably rite. Like I said I got the permagard for free through work. Permagard is not designed for shine. They do do it but you have to go through the whole system. That takes about a week. What you pay for at the dealership is literally just the paint protection. It does the one thing it’s designed to do. Protect your paint. And yes it’s only designed for one year. I personally like to polish and wash my car all the time. So to me I’d rather just use good old waxes but got this for free lol.
Don’t know about the exo coating but this I believe is already the top of the line for Gtechniq with 9 year warranty. Yeah I considered Pomp but advised that Gtech is better Payed $1,580 for exterior, interior, glass, and wheels.
