  • VW 5 year warranty

Hi all, I read today on car advice that VW are trialing 5 year warranties until 31 Dec. Does anyone have any additional info?

Wonder if a generous dealer would mutually agree to cancel a current contract of sale and straight away sign a new one so the car is ‘sold’ and delivered in this qtr.

worth trying if you haven't taken delivery.

I have signed the contract and made deposit for a Tiguan Wolfsburg months ago but the car is arriving late October or early November. Am I in?

Might be best to ask VW rather than an open forum.. [emoji2373]

Just got the 5 year warranty for my order with no extra cost. Had to do some negotiation as dealer initially tried to charge me a bit for it which would have been an easy money grab for him.

Ryngalf inspired me to contact my dealer and was an easier conversation than expected!

my MY19 ordered September (eta Nov) will be eligible for the 5yr warranty (no extra cost)

                    definitely worth asking the dealer!

What what I have heard, take your lawyer with you for any serious warranty claim even if it has a lifetime warranty.

I’ll have to contact my dealer and ensure it will apply to my order. How much did they initially try to charge you?

Did they mention what proof you will receive confirming it is 5 years?

How’d you go? They initially asked for $500 but I said no. I guess it’s going to be added in the contract.

Thanks, seems like a lot are trying on the $500 price and seeing what response they get. I haven’t contacted them as I’m not collecting to next month. Will try then.
