I think that you'll find that as the Tiguan has been out a few years now the "new car" is something else (Volvo XC40/XC60??).

Could very well be, people will gravitate to the newest items particularly in market segments like SUVs where brand loyalty would be a lot lower than say in the performance segment.

Perhaps we have seen "peak car" and the million sales years will fade away, although there are more and more dual cab numpties still appearing.

Do you know what has been the lowest price paid lately for a new MY19 Tiguan Highline Rline + SnV pack ?

The alt dealer has given 2 options. Dec 2018 delivery (MY19 / 2018 Build Plate) or Mar 2019 delivery (MY19 / 2019 Build plate).
Do you know the resale value difference between the 2 ?

What someone is willing to pay at a future time..?

$1-2k, depending on the buyer. I think buyers are more interested in MY18 v MY19 these days than 2018 v 2019 compliance plates.

Buyers will be looking at MY18 vs MY19 and the options in each MY.

However in terms of trade-in price a lot of the wholesale buyers are still in the build date mentality. So really depends on who is looking at it and if you're selling privately or trading in.
