Android Auto on DiscoverPro

I recently tried Android Auto on the DiscoverPro

the screen resolution seems low, is it just me/my phone or do you guys experience this too?
Is there a setting to improve the resolution?

Also don't like that when phone navigation is running via AA, the map in the centre of ActiveInfoDisplay is switched off.

AA has lower than optimal screen resolution on VW's implementation in the Tiguan Discover Pro.

Yes it also blanks out the map in the DAP screen

Again, I feel it is VW's implementation of AA. It is not AA's fault.

There’s an option in android auto developer settings to enable both 720p and 1080p output. I enabled both and google maps is very clear now.

Not sure if this is what you mean, but I tried it yesterday morning and as per screenshot, Google maps on Discover Pro screen and VW maps on Active Display

yup I got that. but as soon as you start navigation, the VW map disappeared from ActiveInfoDisplay

Yeah it's amazeballs, it's so good!

I don't even use the OEM satnav, or even the media player. It's always Android Auto or the Radio or accessing the menu to disable traction control to use launch control haha

Open up Android Auto on your phone OR car, and tap the headphone icon twice. It will then show you a list of "music" playing apps. Once you choose one, it becomes your default app for music.

the setting is only showing in developer setting:

Launch the Android Auto application on your smartphone

Tap on the hamburger menu icon in the top left corner

Select the About option

Tap repeatedly on the About Android Autoportion of the heading until a pop-up states that Developer settings is enabled

To locate the Developer settings, select the multi-dot menu button in the top right corner

Tap on Developer settings

then tick the checkbox to enable both 720p & 1080p
