Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 132tsi Insurance Agreed Value

    Hi all,

We are currently getting comprehensive insurance quotes for 132tsi with all options and have found the maximum agreed value offered by insurance companies is more than 10% less than the RRP (even with options selected on quote). I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this and/or if I am missing something e.g. it does't include GST. I enquired with one of the insurance companies but they couldn't provide an answer.

Appreciate if anyone can provide more information or experiences.

    Thanks Fly

I had a new for old policy with GIO but when i moved to QLD , Suncorp refused to carry on with the policy and it lapsed to a normal agreed value policy,

A new car has a lot of government charges in the cost like Stamp Duty, GST. I'm with NRMA new for old policy to cover that aspect.

Yep, I went with new for old so agreed value was not required.

Thanks. I notice a lot of companies offer new for old but was unsure how this fits in with market value/agreed value. I assume it reverts to your selected option after the new for old period has expired.
