  • Tiguan Allspace R-line in NSW

I went to the dealership for the new Tiguan Allspace R-line last Saturday and spent a whole afternoon there.
It felt OK when test-drive, similar to normal size Tiguans.
The dealer provided me a quote on 162TSI R-Line+Sound&Vision+Sunroof+ORC which is $68000+
I wasn't happy about the price so he said he could get me a discount with the final price of $67000.
To be honest, it still sounds quite high to me.
The dealer kept telling me this is new model so not much discount and eventhough I have to wait for couple of months for the delivery.

I am wondering did anyone get a better price on the Allspace R-line in Sydney?

Check the RRP against the standard Tiguan R-line. I think there’s only $3-4K in it.

My guess is a good price on one of these would be in the low $60’s.

That won't be for an Allspace, they only landed 2 weeks ago into the country. I'm also in negoiations with a Melbourne dealer and the indications are they don't want to deal like they did on the non Allspace Tig. Have said I'd sign for 62.5K drive away on a blue highline + roof + S&V pack, which i feel is fair, they want around $67.5k. Currently they have my deposit so unless they're prepared to budge we'll walk.

Wow that sounds expensive. I paid $58,500 drive away for my Allspace Highline TSI + Metallic, + S&V, + Rubber floor mats. Retail R-Line would be + $3k, sunroof + $2k = $63,500 if I went for those options, which is alot less than $67k!

Yes sorry - mine is not an ALLSPACE ( 7 seater ) mine is Highline - still think your price is High - 10K for an extra set of what would be an almost useless set of rear seats..IMO

Yes, that price sounds fair. Only options available for R-Line are S&V and sunroof so it should even less than 63k.

You are right, I believe the difference between Tiguan and Allspace only worth 4~5K. 10K is just not acceptable.

If you MUST have 7 seats..You can get a decent Low kn Q7 for 60K...and not get hammered on depreciation...VW don't do a very sexy 7 seater IMO

The Allspace is worth it over the reg Tiguan for the extra rear space (rear facing child seat godsend) and boot space, not the 6th and 7th seats IMO

Supply and demand people.. whilst there is limited supply the prices will be higher and less room to move as there will be someone willing to pay the price for it now..

When those people are not there and there is an oversupply, the price will decrease and more wiggle room will be available..

So if you MUST buy one of the first batch be prepared to pay for it.. or wait patiently for a better price down the track..

Hi Grugly, that is a good point and I agree with you.
I don't have any experience with such brand new models, maybe I should wait for a year and will see how it goes.

Some of the QC problems reported in the US forum are a bit of a worry, welding not done correctly in the roof etc.
