Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Headlights turn on when I go under bridges

I leave my headlight switch in the automatic mode all the time. Every time I go under a bridge in the daytime, the lights turned on and then off when I'm past the shadow cast by the bridge span. They seem to be too sensitive and should not be coming on so quickly for such a brief shadow over the vehicle.

My Golf had a way of adjusting the sensitivity of the head lights so that they did not come on too quickly, but I can't find any such setting on my Tiguan.

Does anyone know if there is an adjustment for the head light sensitivity (maybe similar to how you are just the brightness of the dashboard lights)? If coding is required, does anyone know which VCDS parameters must be adjusted?
