Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Comfortline 132TSI 7-sp DSG AWD - $45,490

Assuming adding around 5K in driveaway cost What do you think is a good drive away for a standard one of these in Victoria? Previously bought a GTI with AMA (medical association discount a while back and was about 10% off) but anyone know what kind of corp. discount available as back then I think there were 2 different types (silver and something else 4 years ago)

You may find that corporate discount is not available for brand new models. It’s often the case for the first 6 months or so they won’t accept corp. discount. Or at least until they can’t shift the number of cars they need with zero discount...

The file name suggests it’s a MY18.5 spec brochure at the moment. Not immune to WLTP it seems

Went into the dealership today and had a test drive and good look through one. Seemed nice enough, didn't drive it myself, the wife did as it'll be her car. She said was just like being behind the wheel of mine.

They do not want to do any discounts, have given them a figure and we'll see how it goes, otherwise we may take a look at the Kodiaq.

Went to the dealer today to take a look a demo that had arrived. The Mk2 Tiguan made the original look quite small in hindsight, and now the Allspace makes it look even small, and it also makes the mk2 and my CX5 look a bit short.

I had a 2012 Tiguan, and in 2015, I bought a CX5 because of the small boot, and my wife didn't like the air vents. The other reason why the CX5 won me over in 2015 was I got electric leather seats in both driver and passenger.

The Allspace now ticks all the boxes for me, I think the Allspace is going to be a best seller.

Was able to get a deal done today on a 162TSI Highline Allspace, with Sunroof, Sound & Vision pack + slimline plates on road for $63k. Was a negotiation over a few days and the dealership really didn't want to move, but we got there in the end. Was just over a $2k discount. Over time they'll be more wiggle room, but wife was keen to pull the trigger now and we need to replace our current 7 seater.

Car is on a ship now, with delivery expected in August. Happy days!

Given that its a new model, that's not a bad discount, I wasn't expecting much of a discount for mine. My Allspace is like yours except I'm getting metallic paint, rubber floor mats instead of slimline plates, and not getting sunroof. Apparently my driveaway price of $58,500 was extraordinary at this point in time as when I ordered my car last month, the dealer was expecting an $2.5k price diff between standard and allspace, whereas it looks like the difference is $4.4k, so preordering worked in my favour.

Expecting my Allspace next week. Well it was supposed to arrive this week (Highline + S&V) however something went wrong with delivery.
The dealer however found me an Allspace R-Line + S&V & Sunroof that they have in stock, so hopefully I'll be able to collect in a few days.

Picking mine up on Monday afternoon Pure white 162TSI, R Line, S&V, sunroof. $62,700 drive away, best of luck getting that price though, the dealer got the wrong price from VW when I preordered and they were good enough to honour the deal.

I was going to ask whether tinting is needed or optional given that the highline models comes with tinting on all windows and 35% VLT on the rear and passenger windows?
