  • Tyre Pressure monitoring system?

    Hi all

After only having my Tig for a week, I copped a flat on the weekend and my tyre monitoring system hadn’t been set upon delivery. Whilst at the dealer getting it fixed, they set the system.

However, I’m not sure if it’s supposed to still have this screen after they set it? Is this what yours has or is mine faulty?

    Thanks

I'll check again when I get home but I think that's normal. The system doesn't store any values as such - it uses the ABS system to monitor the individual wheel rotation speeds and when one is travelling faster than the others it indicates low pressure and the warning will come up.

It's always like that, even after you press set. I got the "low pressure" warning on the weekend and then the graphic changed to a see-through tiguan with the wheels highlighted in a sort of tan colour. BTW, the manual said that the low pressure warning can happen sometimes on the car's first big run and when i checked all of the pressures were ok.

Ah thanks so much. I’m super anxious about the tyres now so was worrying my system wasn’t going to recognize an issue as it didn’t when I got the flat - but if it’s like that unless there is a problem then I feel a bit better!

Exactly but it has, twice now. Am curious if that’s what the SET screen is?

So I got the warning on the DAP and from then on there was an orange "flat tire" icon on the screen. Yours should have done the same i'd think.

Yep but it didn’t as it hadn’t been set before delivery. Hoping that is why it didn’t pick it up. So if you toggle to ‘car’ on the screen, does yours have the same “SET” as default or something different?

[emoji1305]Ok, that gives me confidence that it is not an issue and it will pick up a fault in the future. I don’t walk around the car checking all 4 tyres before driving (probably should) so want to rely on it to tell me if there’s a problem next time!

                    Thanks so much

It works It happened to me a few months ago - it showed the right rear was going down and, sure enough, a screw had gone into the tyre in the wet.

Yay to the system working! Not yay about your screw though
