Hi everyone, newbie in Sydney here. We just ordered a red 110TSI Comfortline with DAP. After 10 years in a 2008 Hyundai Tucson we are super excited to be joining the VW family! Car is currently being built and the ship is due to arrive (in Queensland) in the second week of April. I've read in a few places about "MY18.5" but nothing official from VW - does anyone know if that's a thing? And if so, what are the changes from MY18? Thanks! --- Jimmy

Congrats. Great choice. We just picked up our Ruby Red T2 last week. It’s a gorgeous place to be. Very refined and well thought out.

Congrats on the purchase. There's very little change for Tiguans built after week 45 - 2 extra usb charging ports - 1 apple compatible front and 1 rear. Engine and drivetrain badges are deleted.

My 162TSI Highline with DAP, delivered to me last week (unloaded Brisbane 01/02/201, has a build date of 01/11/2017.

It does not have the Traction Control button; it has 2xUSB at front on x1USB/charging at rear, no 2.0TSI badge on RHS tailgate, but 4Motion badge. Is this a MY18.5 Tiguan?

My Tig has a build date Oct 17 and is a MY18
It does have the 2.0 TSI badge on the back.
The sticker on the RH door pillar should show what your MY is.

Wow.. mine was built a week after yours and was ready for pick up the week after I bought it.. has the two usb's and no badges including no 4motion badge.

Is a 162TSI - Rline though.

Can someone explain what they mean about apple compatible USB? I thought they were all the same?

The two USB in the front can be used for apple/andriod car play and for charging and the rear is purely for charging only.

Yes, but it was just one USB port up front. Now it seems there’s an extra Apple Car Play port up front and a charging port in front of rear seats

If it's current being built how do you know what ship it'll be on or when it will arrive? Just going by the dealer's guestimate?

Yeah just going on guesstimate. You can’t track using VIN any more, and dealer has been drip-feeding me screenshots from their internal system. No name of ship forthcoming. I can see that our Tig rolled off production line in Wolfsburg on 31 Jan and that’s about it

You can look at the potential ships coming our way based on that date. Asian Dynasty left Bremerhaven on 2 Feb, Grand Eagle on 8 Feb and Fidelio on 13 Feb. They're coming to Port Kembla on 16 March, 19 March and 28 March, respectively. Then put another 3 weeks on top for customs and transport. At least this is what I did.
