ACC and TJA - Quirks or Features

Agree, works well in tight peak hour traffic in the city. Crossing a signal takes half an hour on some bad days. ACC + TJA Just makes it easier till the point you near the signal.. at that point you take over

Like I said earlier you work out how the sytem works, what it does well and when you need to take over from the "semi-autonomous" driving.

Some of the systems work better than others and there's plusses/minuses for cameras versus radar sytems (which continue to operate in heavy rain / fog).

One thing to say is that the new generation of ACC systems are a big step forwards compared to the "old" cruise control.

Just thinking about ALG activating at 67 km/h.
Would there not be a piece of code that contained the value 67 to activate ALG?
And if so, we replaced 67 with say 30 then we could have ALG (TJA) whatever, activated at a lower speed?

No values to be changed.

All the module functions are enabled by parameters.

It would have to be a parameter stored somewhere. Perhaps in the adaptation area???

The only way to get ALG working below 67km/h is to activate TJA

Now... as my car nears it I find that:
a) The car does not slow down and down right does not register the existence of the car at the signal.
b) When I apply the brakes and come to a complete stop and re-engage the ACC, it immediately recognizes the car in front of me
c) This is never the case for a car moving at say 40 KPH and coming to a stop in front of me.

a/b/c = This is how the ACC works in my Audi S3 also.

Check if ESC/Traction Control is turned off... It also disables ACC (I think).
