Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

'Think they are dreaming, the Mazda has a 110kw motor in their entry model against 85kw in the VW. They tried this with the UP and it fell on its face and it has got a triple against a four cylinder as well, good luck with that in Oz. They are trying the bait and catch method, get the punter in with a apparently low entry price and up sell to the more powerful motor at a dearer price than the competition.

The thing the T-Cross has going for it is that it's 100+kg lighter to start with. Most people are going to be driving around with 1 or maybe 2 passengers maximum. I think it's enough for a city car. I'm not sure the T-Cross is a direct 1:1 comparison to the CX-3.
Though I'm with you on the up! comparison - it just wasn't cheap and cheerful enough so in reality it was competing at the same price point as larger cars and therefore got overlooked. I don't want to put a nail in it's coffin but I suspect the T-Cross may suffer the same fate... unless petrol prices take a massive hike and people are looking to buy more fuel efficient cars.

T-Cross will be a sales hit if South African sales are anything to go by.
