  • MY11 Amarok Australian Specifications

The copy I got is only in black and white sorry.

Can't quite glean the gearbox options from this document.

Mmmmm Ontario Green and Starlight Blue!
Not sure about the wheel choice either, the 18" durban's look okay but the rest are pretty ugly.

Upon re-reading I realise there is only one gearbox option, Shiftable 4motion. Probably the pick of the options in any case as you get a low range.

No red colours in the line up. I'd fancy a tornado red one.

        Tornado red would look unreal.
Like the TRD hilux's, they really stand out.

Are you sure about the gearbox?
the fuel consumption figures state manual and 4motion (should be DSG???)

At this stage internationally Tornado Red is only for the base version hence maybe why VWA passed on this option, although you would think they would target the fire services with a red ?

            fire services usually buy white.

Yes there is only one 4motion for oz and it is the selectable version with low range not the 3 torsen diff system a la Tiguan.

with ref. to team_v, there is not going to be a DSG amarok. There is not auto at all at the moment and the latest rumor is that when it does lob it will be an 8 speed torque converter job. The fuel economy figures are referring to RWD v 4MOTION - that is a funny error with regard to the manual though

Looks great - what is the indicative pricing?

I'd take a base model in grey and switch the wheels

Nice spec on the Highline. Not sure about any of the wheels really. Maybe the 19s are the pick. Rubbish range of colours too. One in a rising blue or deep blue pearl would be awesome as well as tornado red as already mentioned.

Why is the colour brown making a come back? I've seen some X1s on the road in brown too and they already look dated. I thought we got over this nasty trend before I was born (1983).

                Cheers,

Yes white is mostly what the fire departments use but our CBD MFS has a red Pajero with stickers.

Am pretty sure Tiguan is not torque sensing AWD system as that is for Audi's and inline engined VW Group models. (Haldex AWD from memory in Tiguan)

Interesting that you say 8 speed auto I've read a 6 speed is imminent as well

Will they be classed as commercial vehicles?

Base will be around the 36,000 plus on roads with no options, around $50,000 will get you into a highline with a few options...

With Nissan Navara's new V6 having 550nm of torque it would appear the Amarok has been snookerd before it even released.

                              cheers Pete
