Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

The tuning house has fitted the Amarok with a lift kit that increases its ride height with 40mm. In addition to that, the company has installed a set of lightweight alloy rims that use Mickey Thompson 275/70R18 All Terrain and Mud Terrain tires that add 50mm to the ride height.sigpic

Yeah, maybe in a 1990's patrol, not one of these as not only will it need to be inspected by an engineer which I doubt they would pass, it will affect the calibration of all the active and passive safety systems. This car has electronics so complex, fitting a seemingly simple tow bar becomes a nightmare.sigpic

well thats part of the mickales lift (sp) there are ways and means , i lifted my late model cherokee 4" + tyres and i was told you couldnt lift em more than 40mm drives better now with the right springs and shocks than it ever did stock
limiting you to no lift will not work a 2" lift + tyres will have this thing humming

Yes, for sure any body-on-frame car can have a body lift, but with today's regulations and ADRs, I highly doubt it could be done legally, especially on a brand new car, let alone cost effectively. To be safe, people would need to contact the local registration authority along with vw and their insurance company.sigpic

the cherokee is a unibody IFS front Solid rear so no body spacers there mate, a good set of coils up front and an add a leaf or a extended shackle at the back and some longer travel shocks will give you the lift you need, and yes when i get my amorok i will be lifting the sucker a set of 31's all should be good then the yota mob will have something to think about

So you have done a suspension lift, not a body lift. You can lift a suspension setup as far as it will mechanically still function, hell, the Amarok could be lifted by around 120mm in the rear and 75mm at the front, but I'm not willing to put a figure on the life of the 4 front CV joints lasting any more that 20,000kms at that angle, especially if the vehicle sees a slightly rough road. Hence why we have stuck to 25mm, this will give a very good service life for the CVs.sigpic
