  • Buying a used 2017 or later Highline

    Hi guys.
We are trading our 2010 Tiguan on a 2017 or later V6 Rok.
I do all my own maintenance, oils filters etc on our vehicles.

Just wondering how reliable the V6 auto Amarok are? The dealer has 3 to choose from, all under 60,000 km. They range from a standard highline to a Canyon and a dark label.

Any insights you can post would be great. Ease of servicing etc.

    Thanks.
    Dave.

I have a 2018 Dark Label, been tuned and exhausted since brand new, now has a bigger turbo and had no issues really. Mine is about to tick over 100k km. They are pretty reliable. Just check for oil weep around the rocker covers as that is a common fault for the gaskets to leak. It is a fairly labour intensive job to replace them.

Only annoying thing if you test drive one, when you are at a stop, you will get a bit of a clunk I guess you could it. That is the torque converter disconnecting to 'save fuel'.
