Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Running a relay off indicators front and rear ?

    Hi

I’ve put dynamic indicators in my R-Line wing mirrors which I’m very happy with. I’d like to run some led dynamic indicator strips on the front and possibly the rear (additional to the existing flashers) and wondered if anybody knew if I can run a relay off the indicator wiring at each corner to switch the new strips on and off ? I’m no expert on this sort of thing but have run relays before to retrofit front figs on a mk1 Tiguan. So I guess I need to know if there is separate wiring that just runs the indicators (rather than some pulsed system etc) and if so does anybody know where I can find the colours etc and where to physically access them ?

Thanks for any help you can give.

    Cheers
