Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hate to say it but you better not buy any new vehicle because many of the dealers have that attitude these days. It’s your dealer that’s the problem and possibly they have an issue with you and your approach to the problem. Let’s face it, they have no idea if anything is actually wrong with the vehicle unless they do the diagnosis, you’re not driving a Massey Ferguson tractor (or the equivalent 5 year old Ford !!). The system is as it is for a reason and you just need to work within it without putting everybody’s back up. To decide you’ll never buy another VW because they, like every manufacturer on earth, want to charge a diagnostic fee is not helping anything !!Derek
