Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Thanks, downloaded the files and did the update to 1969 today on my MY22.5 R. I only bought the car last Friday, so was a nice adrenaline rush for the 15 or so minutes it took to update hoping that I didn't brick the car.

Update went ahead fine, after it's complete there are some parking sensor errors until the system calibrates itself again. The UI does seem snappier and the boot up time improved. I'd also read people have experienced an improvement in audio quality from the sound system. My car has the Harmon Kardon system and it seems that the volume is boosted and doesn't need to be turned up as much.

Will continue to test over the next few days.

      I'm glad I could help!

Although you may be having a bit of a placebo effect with the audio quality. If you've got the HK system, then you'll have a seperate sound module/amplifier which is likely the same part number as with my Octavia's Canton system.

My MY21 Octavia required and update for the amplifier, but that was in 2021/early 2022. With your Golf being a MY22 I doubt you'll need an update unless you get random sound drop outs.
