Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Golf MK8 300kw and more extreme?

I'm patiently waiting for more news on expected mk8 golf's and came across this article

Volkswagen: Next-gen R models to be more 'extreme' - report | CarAdvice

I'm not entirely sold on hybrid system's and may need to rush into the dealership to order a MK7.5

It'd definitely be cool to see the Golf in A45/RS3 territory. Apparently some R version EV's are in the works too.

Agreed, I'm just hopeful it meets up to expectations and doesn't flop like the iPhone x

I agree, it would be awsome to see a Golf R take on the RS3 and A45, however it becomes a price point issue for manufacturers...i.e why would people pay $100k for and RS3 when you can buy a golf with the same power for $65k.
